Seafood Express (PEI) Ltd. runs an ultra modern fleet of equipment boasting Freightliner and Peterbilt trucks. The refrigerated units make use of Thermo King reefers. Acquisition & disposition of equipment is on a timely basis to ensure uptime in the transportation of our customers goods.
At Seafood Express (PEI) Ltd., our Maintenance Program includes an extensive preventative maintenance system and incorporates timely improvement maintenance plans. Included in the maintenance program, we have a mobile-manned wash unit on site and a pressure washer stationary site.
We have a Maintenance Facility located on-site with a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor and five maintenance technicians. In this two full-service bay facility, our trucks and trailers are consistently and carefully inspected to industry standards in order to ensure equipment reliability, eliminate on-the-road breakdowns, and guarantee safe and timely operating conditions. We also have a strong network of vendors in place to keep our trucks and your freight moving down the road.
The environment is important to us and we do our best to implement environmentally safe equipment and working conditions. Our environmental program is focussing on making our equipment more environmentally friendly. We are adding wind skirts to all U.S. bound trailers, which makes for better handling and lowers fuel consumption. All of our trucks and trailers are equipped with nitrogen-filled Michelin tires, also lowering overall fuel consumption. Our trucks are equipped with in-cab heaters, optimized idle and Auxiliary Power Units reducing idling time. We make use of wheel balancing and tractor trailer axle alignment, reducing wear on tires and lowering fuel consumption.
